A Small Slice of the Pie.

Imagine you are in a small steel box (pizza truck), with 3-4 other people, shoulder to shoulder. The weather said the high temps for the day would peak at about 101 degrees fahrenheit and the only self defense your crew has is a little fan. To top that off, your job for the next 4-6 hours is to man a 550 degree oven. Just to spice things up a little bit, you haven’t even opened your doors and there is a line waiting outside the truck of 50 people strong.

This is a day in the life of our event staff. To say that they are “built tough” is an understatement. They are a different breed who specialize in delivering awesome vibes, crispy pizza, and a work ethic stronger than the average Joe. So how does one pick a motto to represent a legendary crew that won’t just be clever word play? Many people that have worked in the food industry for a long time understand how important the bonds you make with others become. Making food is hard. You suffer with the people next to you and at the end of the rush who else do you go to for a shoulder to lean on? Your co-workers. Yet, the work itself is rewarding and it seems like periodically we catch ourselves looking to the past and reminiscing on good times. Thus, “Good Times at the Lucky Slice” was born and when you meet some of the people on our event team, this saying starts to make even more sense. So without further adieu, meet Nikki and Oliver. In her spare time, Nikki (her friends call her Kita) loves doing yoga, finding ways to better herself, and her relationships (including her dogs). Her current anthem is "I Love It" by Icona Pop and her favorite slice is the Spartiken with balsamic drizzle. Here are some words of wisdom from Nikki... “There are only two lessons: you weren’t seeing the whole thing, and you are the whole thing”

When Oliver (his friends call him Oli) isn't bumping "Not Like Us" by Kendrick Lamar, you might catch him going to concerts, snowboarding, or munching on a Danimal slice (when it's around of course). We asked Oliver what some words of wisdom he lives by and he gave us this killer Mac Miller quote... “People change and things go wrong, but just remember, life goes on.”
